With the water level limiters of the SPECTOR family, GESTRA is now offering the fifth generation of these safety components. The new products provide solutions that conform to the technical literature, increase safety in operation and keep costs down. In accordance with EU boiler standards EN 12952 and EN 12953, in future a risk analysis must be performed for each limiter function, and appropriate Safety Integrity Levels (SIL) established. The boiler protection system must conform at least to SIL 2.

LOW LEVEL ALARM WITH NRG 16-40 AND NRS 1-40

The alarms are a combination of an NRG 16-40 level electrode and an NRS 1-40.1 level switch. Units are available in "conventional" and "High Integrity" versions. Their respective areas of application are set out in the technical literature and are based on a plant's risk potential. The basis for this can be the maximum working pressure (TRD 701 1 bar; PED 0.5 bar), or the boiler water content (TRD 802). Both the control device and the level probe work with the CANopen protocol.
